Vérité attracts guests who are seekers (and finders!): people who are striving for a healthy, balanced lifestyle, who want to help regenerate a planet that supports all life, and who feel the call to participate in the shift of consciousness that is needed to bridge matter and spirit.

Vérité's entire campus is a "positive health" zone, free of smoking, alcohol and drugs ("S.A.D"). While our state-of-the-art solar electricity system means Vérité is free from India's infamous power cuts, we also make it easy to "unplug": there are no televisions, mobile phones are used only in designated areas, and to reduce radiation exposure, internet is intentionally not wireless.

Some practical notes for prospective guests:
The atmosphere in Vérité is much more like an "eco-home-stay" than a hotel:
- we have 4 twin sharing double bedrooms with air conditioned facility as well as simple guest rooms with ceiling fans, most with shared (detached) bathroom facilities
- lounge/ kitchenette open 24/7
- quiet hours between 9 pm and 7 am
- renewable energy, so no use of hair dryers or other high-consuming appliances
- hot water available in rooms with attached bath and by bucket from a water heater near the common bathrooms
- everyone helps out, taking care of their own room and dishes
- we're helpful with special needs, but please don't expect room service
- no smoking, no alcohol and no illegal drugs anywhere on the premises
Kitchen and Dining Hall
Vérité is known for its organic, vegetarian kitchen, where our guests can sign up for 1, 2 or 3 meals per day. Produce comes first from Vérité's garden, then Auroville farms, and then from local organic distributors. We support organic agriculture because we value healthy food, the land, the planet and its biodiversity.
Our cuisine is Western-Indian fusion, with an Ayurvedic influence; flavorful but not too spicy, with healthy oils and nutritional balance. Our staff is well trained in hygienic food preparation, so even the raw produce is safe to eat. With advance notice, special dietary needs can be accommodated (e.g. food allergies and sensitivities).
Guests eat with Vérité residents, staff, and faculty in the dining hall, making meal times a rich opportunity for socializing and networking. Quiet tables are also available for those preferring to eat in silence. Everyone takes care of washing and drying their own dishes. Guests are also welcome to offer additional help with food preparation and cleanup.

Please note that meals are only provided for the guests staying at Vérité and must be booked in advance.
There are public spaces at Vérité which are available for meetings, seminars, Yoga & Re-creation Sessions.
These include the high-roofed roundish Vérité Hall, the wooden floored ILC Studio, the open space beside the fish pond in ILC (we call it the "NO-space"), and "Unity" a meeting room above the treatment rooms, not to mention the gardens, library and guest lounge. Vérité has been the site of many conferences, cultural programmes, performances and exhibitions.

Vérité Guest House offers 17 rooms (32 beds), described below. When you stay with us you may also sign up for 1, 2 or 3 meals per day. Basic laundry services are included.

Bringing a Group to Vérité, Auroville
Teachers from a wide variety of disciplines are drawn to share their work in Auroville because they resonate with Auroville's vision and aims. The combination of Vérité's health-oriented guest house and programming facilities makes it an appealing place for groups that want both a "home base" from which they can explore Auroville and conducive space for their collective work.
Vérité has a long history of hosting student groups from academic institutions as well as other learning groups that come with their own faculty to study yoga, massage, sustainability, architecture, dance, meditation, etc.
Vérité selects groups through an application and screening process, seeking those who have a sincere interest in Auroville. Group coordinators should be familiar with Auroville's vision, aims and regulations.Preference is given to those who want to contribute to Auroville "in kind" by opening their group sessions to Aurovilians and Newcomers.

Vérité has two public spaces suitable for yoga & re-creation sessions, Workshops, trainings and other events. Both halls are equipped with sound systems, lights, fans, chairs, cushions, white and black boards, and yoga mats, blocks and straps.
